Math students observe Pi Day with Math Fair
The Math Department celebrated National Pi Day on March 14 with its second annual Math Fair, games, and of course pie. The date of the event corresponds with the number pi, 3.14.
For the fair, organized by teacher Jill Farrell, LCHS
students ran math games for visiting middle school students from around the community for a few hours throughout the evening. Games included Math Land, which was similar to the board game Candy Land, a Deal or No Deal spin-off game, Connect 4 with math problems, Crazy 8s, Blackjack and Roulette, Math Bozo Buckets, and X-Treme Jeopardy math game with dart guns.
During the school day, students in their math classes enjoyed eating pie as they discussed the history of pi
and shared jokes and interesting facts about the mysterious, neverending number, and participated in other related activities.
