Professionals offer tips and tricks to young journalists
Students on the newspaper and yearbook staffs journeyed to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Oct. 17 to attend an annual journalism conference hosted by the Kettle Moraine Press Association.

They joined about 1,200 other students from the region to hone their photography, writing, design and organizational skills. Students attended three sessions throughout the day, each one instructing students and publication advisers on specific journalism skills. The sessions were led by local and national professionals as well as other publications advisers.
They learned tips for computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. Other sessions included choosing yearbook themes, finding story ideas and how to continue in the field of journalism at college.
