| Advisory
students hold walk for hunger
On
November 1and 2 Carla Thompson’s Freshman Advisory completed two
service projects. They are striving to give back to the community that
has supported them as individuals and as a school.
On Monday, the
class hemmed blankets to be donated to one of several service organizations
in Lake County. They needed flannel and fleece (children’s designs)
to make the blankets.
On Tuesday, students
walked from 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. to prevent hunger. Families in our own
towns need our help. Each student was asked to get donations of canned
or boxed (non-perishable) food items. Items such as soup, beans, tuna,
mac and cheese, rice, or other nutrient rich foods are best. The
goal was for each student to collect 20 items.
Anyone who wanted
to walk on Tuesday was welcome. If you have questions or suggestions you
can contact Thompson at 847-838-2100, voice mail # 8180 or through e-mail:
