| Penny
war competition to aid victims of tsunami
Penny Wars have
been declared. Sara English’s 2nd hour Algebra class, along with
Jori Bowen and Lynn Lubeck, has challenged the school and faculty to raise
money for the tsunami victims.
Students and teachers
can contribute their money during lunch periods from Wednesday, January
19 through Wednesday, January 26. The war is declared between the following
groups: Freshman class vs. the sophomore class and the gold team faculty
members vs. the cranberry team faculty members.
The rules are
as follows: In the cafeteria there will be one water jug for each group.
The jugs were donated by Wisconsin Springs. You want to add pennies to
your group. If you see the opposing group has a lot of pennies, you can
add silver change and bills to subtract from the value of the pennies.
The goal is to
have the most pennies in your jug (remember, though, if you put in 25
pennies and someone else put in a quarter, your balance is back to zero).
State Bank in Lindenhurst has agreed to count the money for no charge.
All profits will be going to a reputable charity.
